These last three months have been hectic which is why I haven't got to post since February. This last month, me and a couple others worked on our huge final. I got the chance to work with Ashley Serrano and Alexis Buxton. We made a video called "The house next door". It was about two college students (Ashley and Lexi) who moved into a new house near campus. the house next door has some horrible past experiences and the landlord recommended that they dont go in it. Lexi decided to go check it out the night they arrived at the house. while there, some spooky stuff happened causing lexi to leave. In the morning Ashley woke up to see that lexi was not there. Ashley found Lexi in the basement of the old house with a demon (Me). Lexi was never heard from again and Ashley was found outside the basement door. this was a very fun video to film. Alexis did my special effects makeup. it was so much fun and we all enjoyed it.
School is over this Wednesday.. Im going to miss filming and editing videos with Mr. Holt. i cant wait to come back next year even tho it will be my last year. I hope everyone has a great summer and i will see you all in August! thanks for following my journey another year!

In January we were to do a news story. I did my video over Entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs are very well known around South West Kansas. Some business, for example, Bling, started in Scott City and spread out across Kansas. I tried to get an interview with Nicole Campos, Owner of Bling, to see if she had any advice for upcoming entrepreneurs. However, she had a lot of business to do at Bling so did not have the time to meet with me. I did get to interview Kevin Reese, Teacher of the young entrepreneur class at SCHS to talk a little about the class and what it takes to become an entrepreneur. I was very thankful for Mr. Reese to take the time to answer some questions so it will help others know a little more about entrepreneurs. If you would like to watch this video, it is under the 'Video' column.
In February we got to do a video of our choice. It took me a couple weeks to find something that Sounded really interesting. I Decided to do a video called "Home of the Beavers". Sadly, it did not turn out the way I was hoping. I did not have much time to finish it or correct it so I had to upload how it is. This video is under the 'video' Column as well for those who want too see it. I am going to work extra hard on the March video so hopefully it will come out the way I want it too! November and December have been hectic! Since I last blogged, we have done three projects NHS Promo, November did you know, and a news story. I did my News story of NHS because I have been a member since April and not very many people know much about it. For my November did you know I did that video over Walking. I personally love to walk around just for the fun of it. Lastly, my news story was over the Towns new school bond. This bond was put in place late November so it was a great topic. You can watch all of these videos under the video catagory. The next time I will blog will be in 2018. Merry Christmas!
So far this year, we have done three projects. our first one was a PSA (Public Service Announcement). i did mine over dangers online. Many people don't realize how badly are lives can be effected with just one post on the internet. Although there are many dangers on the internet, i did mine over the main one, Cyber-bullying. Cyber bullying takes teens lives every day. Even tho one person may not think its that bad, its hurting the person receiving it. I enjoyed doing this Public Service announcement.
Our second project was the first video of a new category we are doing this year called "Did you know?" Mine was over hearing loss. I suffer from hearing loss and have had three eardrum reconstructions in the past three years. It was a very easy topic to talk about and i enjoyed learning more about the ears. Lastly, my latest project was a promotional video for the National Honor Society. Being a member in NHS, it was easy to figure out what shots i wanted for the video. Thanks to other NHS members, the video was a success and is now on my you tube account! You can check out these three videos under the "Video" category on my page. This is the second day of my Junior Year! I have so many new classes so I might not be able to blog much this year. I updated my "About Me" page with new pictures and information.
These first two days have been pretty laid back. Basically all we are doing in class is getting to know each other and learning about the class. This year is super busy because I have a lot harder classes this year. Hopefully Junior year will be fun and I can't wait to see the projects we get to do this year in video production! This is my last nine weeks in school and it is hectic. We have learned about how to make a news report and how to do swishblogs. we were also assigned to make a video that is one minute long and the camera cannot move. You can watch these videos under the "Video" category! This past week we have been able to work on our webpage and make it look more professional!
During the month of January Mr. Holt taught us how to use a Tricaster. It was very helpful to those of us who are planning on taking this class next year. Also, Basketball season started so I signed up to video the home games. I enjoy filming games and That's one of the many reasons why I am taking this class next year.
In February we were to make a video of anything of our choice. Recently in school we have been learning about what to do if we had a school shooter. My partner and I decided to make a "Dateline"type of video about school shootings. We had a lot of fun making it and a lot of people seem to enjoy it. We had a ton of bloopers so we decided to put those in at the end. HUGE THANK YOU to: Chandler Janssen Clarissa Ratzlaugh Mr. Holt Mrs. Aguilera Mrs. Aguilera's Spanish I class and the two cops! This month was filled with projects.First, My birthday was on December 1st so i am now 16 years-old. This month we did a PSA (public service announcment). Mine was over distracted driving.
We also got to create a Christmas themed video. I teamed up with Ashley Serrano and Lily Pepper and you can watch the video under the video tab. We had some special guests (Alexis Buxton, Chance Jones, and Issac Evans) to help make the video. Not much else happened other then Christmas Break. :) Not much happened in October so I did not post a blog. However November has been filled with many activities. At the beginning of November, we were working on Parallel Shots. Mr. Holt gave us some clips and told us to make a parallel video out of them. Once we finished the videos, we had a competition in class, whoever did the best got to go to the doughnut store which is right by the High School. Out of nine students, only one could be chosen. Everyone did a great job and really worked hard on them. The winner was a fellow classmate (Dylan R.) His video was well put together.
Next we started working on shooting our own parallel videos. we got to choose a partner and work together. I did my project with Ashley S. the video is up on my you tube channel or you can go to my videos and look at it there. It was very fun and we did a wonderful job on it. The first project we were assigned was to do a Radio Add. I decided to do my radio add about an app. The app is called 'Mini Me'. It basically combines google, Siri, and your mom all in one! I did very well for this project and got a 97% on it. The rest of September, we learned about shots, editing, sound, and lighting. We also took quizzes on them to make sure we remembered what we learned. I also got the chance to film one of the home football games. It was the Homecoming game on September 30 against Ulysses. It was a very fun experience.
